Efemena D. Emmanuel

Graduate Student (Ph.D.), Environmental Sciences
Efemena holds a B.S. degree in Physics and an M.S degree in Applied Geophysics from Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria. He completed a second M.S degree in Geology at the University of Toledo, Ohio in 2022. He is currently a Ph.D. student where his research focuses on investigating electrical signatures of wetlands' soils as proxies to characterize their physical and biochemical properties.

Hannah LaPoint

Field Research Technician and M.S Student
Hannah holds a bachelors degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Toledo, Ohio with experience in hydrogeology. She joined the UToledo HEG-Lab in October 2021 as a field research technician where she currently supports our wetlands characterization and monitoring and other related research.

Ogunsola, Olawale Quadri

Graduate Student (Ph.D.), Environmental Sciences
Olawale holds a B.S. degree in in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. He also completed the Joint Erasmus Mundus M.S program in Groundwater and Global Change at IHE, Netherland, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal and the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. He is currently a Ph.D. student where his research focuses on assessing subsurface hydrological response to flooding along terrestial and aquatic interfaces.

Yalley Obed Kweku

Graduate Student (M.S), Geology
Obed holds a bachelors degree in Geological Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana where he graduated with a first-class degree in 2020. He joined the UToledo HEG-Lab in August 2023 where he is currently working towards a master's degree in Geology with his research focus on "characterizing subsurface flow in wetlands."

Valentina Ita

Graduate Student (M.S.), Geology
Valentina holds a bachelor's degree in Geology from Afe Babalola University in Nigeria, where she graduated with a second-class (honors) upper-division degree in 2019. She worked as a Consultant Geologist with AquaEarth Consulting, Nigeria for over 3 years before joining us at the UToledo HEG-Lab in August 2023. Her research is focused on assessing "potential interaction between the carbonate aquifer and an overlying sandy aquifer within the Oak Openings Region of Northwestern Ohio".

Prince holds a bachelor's degree in Geology from Delta State University, Abraka in Nigeria, where he graduated with a first-class honors degree in 2022. He joined the UToledo HEG-Lab in August 2023 where he is currently working towards a master's degree in Geology with his research focus on integrating geophysical data with numerical models to investigate groundwater flow processes.

Precious A. holds a bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Port-Harcourt in Nigeria, where he graduated with a second-class honors upper division degree in 2018. He joined the UToledo HEG-Lab in August 2024 where he is currently working towards a master's degree in Geology with his research focus on the use of geophysics for characterizing the bathymetry and sub-bottom sediments of inundated wetlands and shallow lakes.

Precious O. holds a bachelor's degree in Geology from Delta State University, Abraka in Nigeria, where he graduated with a first-class honors degree in 2021. He joined the UToledo HEG-Lab in August 2024 where he is currently working towards a master's degree in Geology with his research focus on mapping potential groundwater discharge zones in inundated wetlands and shallow lakes using marine geophysical imaging techniques.

Dr. Aizebeokhai Ahzegbobor Philips

Research Associate
Philips holds a PhD degree in Geophysics from Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria with extensive research and teaching experience in Near-Surface Geophysics. Prior to joining the UToledo HEG-Lab in July 2024, he was a Professor at Covenant University. He currently supports our H2Ohio Wetland Monitoring Project with broad interest in integrating geophysical and hydrogeological methods for environmental assessment and monitoring.
